PSYCHOTHERAPY & COUNSELLING
You may have feelings of sadness, anger, dissatisfaction, stuck-ness, confusion or other emotions that may be hard to find words for.
You may have had counselling before, or you may not know quite what it’s all about but just know that something is pulling you.
Counselling offers a space for you to be with whatever is there. It is a space to be heard, seen and validated. Counselling takes courage and commitment, touching our vulnerability, turning towards what may be difficult to bear. And out of this you may learn to like and respect yourself. Counselling requires curiosity and openness for what may not yet be known, what may be possible and what can emerge when we create space.
Counselling is about being in relationship. Relational trust can take time. It can involve facing what beliefs block or feel in the way. Many of our wounds come from relationship and so also much healing can happen in relationship.
Our work together may begin with everyday lived experiences and feelings. We may then together weave in understanding of relational patterns and what from the past may impact our thoughts and behaviours, what may still be playing out that is no longer needed.
I work with an ongoing and developing awareness of diversity and the impact of power, privilege and systemic inequalities. This may involve lived experiences linked to race, class, gender, sexuality, neurodiversity, age and disability. All are welcome.
I am an experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist with 15 years’ experience. I offer short term and long-term work. I am always learning and growing, through reading, training and my lived experiences. I currently work from my peaceful therapy room in Mytholmroyd as well as online, by phone and outdoors between Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge or at another chosen location.
Together we can step into the open spaces and who knows what may be possible?
