SUPERVISION

I offer supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists, trainees or other professionals.

Supervision can be a place for support, learning, accountability, assessing risk, joy and inspiration. It is like finding a clearing in the woods, a place to pause and reflect. To find space and perspective.

Supervision provides a space to celebrate but also to share fears and vulnerabilities. A place for knowing and not knowing. And through having space for our vulnerabilities and our strengths, we can feel validated, more confident and grounded in who we are as a therapist.

As a supervisor I draw on my own experiences and riches from supervision. My joy in learning, being challenged, supported, as well as practical advice.

In a profession where we generally work on our own, knowing and trusting your supervisor is invaluable for growth and paramount for safety. Also, therapeutic work can be powerful and entangling. I view a supervisor as having an overview, a different perspective. As in my therapeutic work, as a supervisor I also bring what arises in me, which can offer additional information or perspective on the therapeutic work.

I am a qualified supervisor, having completed my diploma in supervision at The Minster in London. The training also had a big focus on working with intersectionality and awareness of power and privilege in the therapeutic and supervisory relationships. I continue to develop my awareness of social identities, including my own.

My way of working is informed by the ’Seven Eyed Model’ developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet. This model uses seven eyes or lenses through which to view oneself, the client, the supervisor, the relationships between, considering interventions, parallel processes and the wider context.

I offer supervision in person, online, by phone or outside.
